As his discoveries spread, a woodland clinic became the Great Infirmary of the Merciful Bloom, drawing the sick and dying from every corner of Ashenreach.

But after a lifetime spent teaching others to resist death, Oren would face a malady that neither his students nor the Mercy Tree could overcome—and leave Bloomcraft with one final lesson in the meaning of mercy.

Deep within AshenReach lies the Verdant Maw, a primordial jungle where death is not an ending, but nourishment.

From the black docks of Veinport, the Aortic River winds north through the Orchid Graves and Orovaya, past the Titan Graves, Sepulchral Bloom, Temples of the Jade King, and the Resin Jungle before reaching the scorched Cinderwilds beneath Embercrown.

Dinosaurs and forgotten beasts roam beneath its canopy. Ancient civilizations vanish beneath root and resin. The OroVaya have learned not to conquer the jungle, but to bargain with it.

Yet beneath the Maw, the roots all seem to grow in one direction.

Toward the mountain.

Perhaps Embercrown does not sustain the jungle.
