Is it possible to do an unselfish good deed? That’s just one of many questions running underneath the book we’ll be studying during the season of Lent. Lent is the 40 days, not counting Sundays, that lead us to Easter Sunday. It’s traditionally a time of spiritual preparation - to make space for God to do something new among us.
This Lenten season we will be journeying through the book of Job. Job challenges the assumption that if you are good enough, God will bless you, and if tragedy strikes, you must deserve it. Job shows us that this is not true.
Good and bad happens to just and unjust people alike. Following God is not about trying to avoid bad things, but about knowing the one who is the source of all goodness, beauty and truth.
Pastor Evan begins a Lenten series on the book of Job from Job 1:1-2:10.
