Cool breezes drift under skies so warm

Tears in her eyes slowly begin to form

Water washes away Ashes like Footprints on Sand

Waves tumble quickly as do lives unplanned

Yesterday faded slowly to night

Turning to day with morning’s light

Smell of saltwater hangs in the air

Gentle winds caress her soft, golden hair

They paused, at times, as they talked

By the ocean, as they slowly walked

(And then)…..he squeezed her hand…..

Spirits floating upon the winds

Staring as it swirls and ascends

Souls sailing in different ways…..

A familiar shore…in an uncommon place
