Ashford Castle, formerly Cong Castle, became a hotel on July 6, 1939.
The long and storied history of Ashford Castle began in 1228. The castle once served as a fortress for soldiers before passing, years later, into the hands of the Guinness family, and finally becoming a hotel in 1939.
Red Carnation Hotels purchased Ashford Castle and undertook extensive renovations from 2013- 2015.
Ashford Castle is not a place you stay to venture away from. With 21 estate activities you will find plenty to keep you busy, fed, and even relaxed.
The celebration is designed to highlight the people who have, and do, work at Ashford Castle.

It will be a traditional event with genuine hospitality.
