Ask in My Name

“In that day you will no longer ask Me anything. Very truly I tell you, My Father will give you whatever you ask in My name.” – John 16:23.

Imagine walking with Jesus for three years—seeing miracles, hearing parables, asking questions, and getting answers straight from the Son of God. That’s what the disciples experienced. But on the night before the cross, Jesus said something unexpected: “In that day you will no longer ask Me anything… Whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.”

Jesus was saying: “I won’t be here physically anymore. But don’t be lost. I will send the Holy Spirit. He will remind you of everything I’ve told you, teach you what you need to know, and guide you into all truth.”

From that moment, their relationship with God would change. They wouldn’t need to run around desperate for answers, because the Holy Spirit would open their minds. And even more amazing—they would have direct access to the Father. Not because they were good enough, but because they would be asking in Jesus’ name.

Asking in Jesus’ name isn’t just tacking “in Jesus’ name” at the end of a prayer like a magic phrase. It’s acknowledging: “Father, I deserve nothing. But I come trusting in the sacrifice of Your Son. I depend fully on Him.”

Young friend, the world will try to convince you that you are too weak, too sinful, or too insignificant for God to listen. But Jesus promises: If you ask the Father, aligned with His heart, and in My name, He will answer.

So today, if there’s something in your life that needs to change, don’t just run to human advice or social media. Go straight to the Father. Speak with honesty. Recognize your dependence on Christ. And believe that the Holy Spirit is right there with you to guide you.

Heaven is open to those who pray with faith and a surrendered heart to Jesus. So… what will you ask for today?
