Guest Speaker - Emerald Osagie

With her unique and soulful voice, Emerald Osagie captivates her listeners with her tone and relatable lyrics. Osagie grew up in a single-parent household surrounded by music. Listening to artists like Mary J Blige, Brandy, Patti Labelle, Amy Winehouse and more, all individuals influence her music to this day. Osagie is a singer-songwriter from Vancouver Canada who started making music in the comfort of her own bedroom. Starting with poetry, Osagie began turning poems into songs and using the guitar and piano to accompany said lyrics.

After teaching herself how to produce and write songs she began to put out her music on streaming platforms on her own. In 2020, Osagie had been introduced to producers Hugh Olychick and Morgan Perry at Akashic Records where the three clicked instantly. Together the three of them began making music which then led to putting out songs. Osagie anticipates the release of more music.
