Welcome to Redemption Church of Plano Tx.
My name is Chris Fluitt.

We are excited to be a Church where you can ask questions and find answers.

We have answered…
Can I Really Trust the Bible?
If God is Good, why is the world so messed up.
Have we committed the unforgivable sin…

Today we are asking…

How Could Jesus Be the ONLY Way?

Let’s kick things off with something that’s been circulating for years—and still sparks conversation today.

Now—pause for a second.
This isn’t about bashing Oprah.
She’s saying what millions of people feel:

“How could there possibly be just one way?”

We live in a world with:

  • many religions
  • many cultures
  • many views of truth
  • And the claim that Jesus is the only way can feel… narrow. Exclusive. Maybe even arrogant.

But what if it’s not about narrowness at all?

What if Jesus isn’t just one more option in a sea of beliefs…

What if Jesus is in a category all by Himself?

Culturally, we value inclusivity—and that’s a good thing.
But… We don’t like to tell anyone they’re wrong.

    We say things like:

    • “What’s true for you is true for you.”
    • “All paths lead to the same place.”
    • “As long as you’re sincere, it’s fine.”
    • But here’s the tension:

      👉 Sincerity doesn’t equal truth.

You can be sincere… and still be wrong.

A pilot can sincerely believe they’re flying north—while actually heading south.

      What matters most is Truth.

What does the Bible say is True?

      📖 John 14:6 (NIV)

      That’s a bold claim.
But notice what He didn’t say:

      • He didn’t say, “I know a way…”
      • Or “I’ll show you a path…”
      • He said, “I AM the way.”
      • Original Christ Followers believed this.

        Peter says these words…

        📖 Acts 4:12 (NIV)

        So the real question isn’t:

Why is Jesus the only way?

        The real question is:

Could there be anyone else like Him?

        1. Jesus is the only way—because He did what no one else could do.

Every religion tells you what you must do to get to God.
Only Christianity tells you what God did to get to you.

Jesus lived the sinless life we couldn’t live.
He died the death we should’ve died.
Then He rose again to give us the life we didn’t deserve.

No one else in history claimed that.
No one else backed it up.

👉 Jesus isn’t exclusive because He wants to keep people out.
He’s exclusive because no one else qualifies to be the way.

        💬 C.S. Lewis:

“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.
He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell.
You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.”

👉 In other words, Jesus doesn’t leave us the option of just calling Him a “good teacher.”
His claims are bigger than that.

        Jesus is either:

        • A liar — He knew He wasn’t God but said it anyway
        • A lunatic — He believed it but was wrong
        • The Lord — and everything He said is true
        • 📌 Only one of those options can be true. And if He’s Lord… that changes everything.

          2. The invitation of Jesus is radically inclusive.

The gospel isn’t “Only good people can come.”
          It’s “Whosoever will, may come.”

          📖 Romans 10:13 (NIV)

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

          Not just the moral.
          Not just the religious.
Not just people from one background or country.

👉 Jesus is the way—but the door is wide open. Jesus is the door.

          3. Truth, by nature, is exclusive—but it can still be full of grace.

          Two plus two equals four.
          Not five. Not three.
          Truth excludes what isn’t true.

But that doesn’t make it unkind.
In fact, truth sets you free.

          📖 John 8:32 (NIV)

Jesus is both truth and grace (John 1:17)
—and when we follow Him, we’re not just right… we’re rescued.

Universalism – the belief that everyone will be saved, no matter what they believe.

We understand why people would be tempted to believe this.

It feels kinder to say, “All ways lead to God.”

But if that’s true… then Jesus died for nothing.
You might say that if that’s true… Jesus was a liar and a lunatic.

Universalism can feel compassionate—but it quietly dismisses the cross.

          📖 Galatians 2:21 (NIV)

If being “right with God” could be gained any other way… the Christ died for nothing.

At the heart of Christianity is the truth that Christ died for sinners like me and you.

          And let’s be real:
No other religion claims their founder died for your sins and then defeated death.

          👉 Jesus isn’t a way.
He is the way… because only He was willing and able to do what we could never do for ourselves.

So what do I do with this?

If you’ve struggled with this question… you’re not alone.

What do you believe about Jesus?

          -Not religion or church…
-Do not be distracted by hypocritical Christians…
-Not talking about an obtuse verse in Leviticus…

          JESUS…
          -What did He do?
          -What did He say?
-What do you believe about HIM.
