Asking Students What Meaningful Work Is

I had interesting conversations with my students today. I asked them three questions:

  1. What is meaningful work?
  2. How meaningful has the work that we've done so far been?
  3. Why am I asking these questions now?

    4. The conversations left me with the sense that I should scrap my entire program. I left the students with the task of thinking up a meaningful project.
