The Ask Juliet & Clinton Show

Askjc 147: Is it possible to learn how to write copy myself or should I hire Juliet?

Listen Later

In this episode, Juliet and Clinton answer the following questions: 1) Is it possible to learn how to write copy myself or should I hire Juliet?  2) How can I write my website copy so it doesn’t sound promotional? And 3) Which point of view should I use when writing my website copy, 1st, 2nd or 3rd?

In this episode we answered the following questions:

1. "My colleague hired Juliet to write her website copy. She says it really helps her get the kind of clients she wants. Is it possible to learn how to write copy myself or if I want it done well should I consider hiring a copywriter like Juliet?"

2. "I see some of the therapist websites and how they are written online. They are not written in the way that I would write them. They are too promotional for my taste. I’d like to just write about my training, experience and my services. Is this ok? I don’t understand why these other websites are not written this way. They don’t seem professional to me."

3. "Should I write my website pages in first, second, or third person voice? I see all used online and I am not sure which to use. Does it matter? Are there certain conditions where one should be used rather than another?"
