Five men would travel to the woods of Mount St Helens during the 1920s in hopes of striking it rich by mining for gold. While there, they constructed a cabin in a gorge close to their mine.

However, before the summer would end, the men would encounter a band of hairy ape-like men who would attack their cabin during the night.
