What is a “Hackathon”?
This methodology is based on experimentation (“the hack”) to solve complex problems. The Geneva Learning Foundation has adapted this innovative learning methodology to the field of immunization.
Who is this for?
Immunization and other Primary Health Care (PHC) staff from any level of the health system.
When does the Hackathon take place?
We encourage you to join before 9 May 2022. You can join any time before 20 May.

How do I join the Hackathon?
• If you are already a Member of the Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030, you have received by email the invitation to join. You simply need to click on the button link in that email to join.
• If you are not yet a Member, go to this page and click on JOIN MOVEMENT.
How much time is required?
• The total time required to develop your IA2030 Action Plan should be around 4 hours over two weeks.
• There is a one-hour live session each Monday, complemented by optional workshops to share experience and get help with your Action Plan.
What will I do with my IA2030 Action Plan?
• Everyone who develops their IA2030 Action Plan will be invited to join the 2nd IA2030 Impact Accelerator, a four-week launch pad to help you kickstart actions to tackle your most difficult and important challenge.
• Completion of an IA2030 Action Plan is required to join the 2nd IA2030 Impact Accelerator that will start on 23 May 2022.
Will there be certification?
• Upon successful completion of an activity and following validation of your IA2030 Action Plan by the Geneva Learning Foundation and its partners, you will receive an Immunization Agenda 2030 Level 1 certificate issued by the Foundation.
• If you already completed situation analysis, the certificate you earn will be Level 2, reflecting your prior commitment to the IA2030 Movement.
How are global immunization partners involved in the IA2030 Hackathon?
This is an opportunity to make your voice heard: We will be engaging with the IA2030 Working Groups created by WHO, UNICEF, Gavi, and other global partners, who want to listen and better support immunization staff in countries.
What will you be expected to do in the IA2030 Hackathon?
• You will be supported to quickly develop an IA2030 Action Plan suitable for implementation, to help you with a challenge that you face in your work.
• You will share experience, learn from the experiences of fellow immunization professionals, and both give and receive feedback to help everyone improve.
What is the format of the IA2030 Action Plan?
• You will receive a link to an online questionnaire.
• The questionnaire walks you step-by-step through the development of your Action Plan.
• When you finish the questionnaire, you will receive your IA2030 Action Plan by email.
What if I cannot attend the live Monday Hackathon sessions?
The Monday sessions are the one time during the week when everyone is together at the same time. It is a powerful moment of both practical information (what you need to do, when, and how) and inspiration (why you want to do it and how that will help your daily work.)
