Several years ago I taught a conference in Colorado. One day for lunch, I joined a couple attending from Dallas. I noticed that Bonnie had a huge smile on her face.

"Bob, today I got it. For the first time the gospel made sense to me, and I know I'm saved."

In a letter she penned that night, she wrote "June 6 is the first day of my new life. Today, I know I am an accepted, forgiven child of God."

I thought of John's words when reading her letter, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

Like my friend Bonnie, you can know for sure that you have eternal life.
