Astrid young is a singer-songwriter-musician with influences that range from classical to heavy rock, with a healthy dose of blues and country in between. She’s been playing music since she was able to walk. She likes to say, "know my music and you'll know me." 

Her discography dates back to 1984 and since then she’s played or sang on more than forty releases, some her own, but most as a side-musician or backup singer. She’s been in a lot of rock bands, and her solo acoustic shows have been compared to "Alice In Chains Unplugged." Music Connection Magazine once said she was "More closely related to Angus" and she thinks that's pretty cool.

She’s played stages large and small all over the world, from the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Hollywood to Paradiso in Amsterdam. my early influences were classical - Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Beethoven ... which evolved into Black Sabbath, Kate Bush, and others ... truly, she loves texture and feeling. She says music changes everything - it's a living, breathing art form that never ceases to fascinate.
