The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike since March 23rd, 2020. Nigerian university students have been at home since March 23rd. This is the 15th time that ASUU has called a strike since 1999. At the face of it, this particular strike is straight forward. But for a growing democracy like Nigeria's, strikes may serve a bigger purpose.
