If a Spartan baby did not appear physically fit at birth, it was left to die. Spartan children underwent military training around the age of seven years old, and every male had to join the army around the age of 18.

Do not waste your money on uncited material.
Utterly hate this book. I was looking forward to gaining some insightful primary, or even secondary, sources. I do not understand where they get half their nonsense from. They do not back up any of their topics by authoritative texts. I reckon we have to take their word for whatever they are saying. I was really, really disappointed with this book. Seems like a bunch of highschooler's wrote this for their summer assignment. Do not waste your money on this.

intersting subject
the subject is interesting, the book needs further editing and additional work on style. Some parts look like a student report, i was expecting more.
