Team Rwanda Cyclist Jeanne d'Arc Girunbunti, 20, is a courageous Rwandan woman who is on a journey of self discovery, one that has already broken barriers. She became the first Black African woman to compete at the World Cycling Championships in the USA this year. An inspiration for women's cycling in Africa, Jeanne d'Arc is also a symbol of hope in a country that cherishes women's empowerment in all sectors of the economy. She is also one of the beacons of hope from a country that befell one of the worst atrocities suffered by the human race. Jeanne d'Arc represents the future of the young generation of empowered women in Rwanda.
