Faroe Islands' flagship carrier Atlantic Airways received its first Airbus A320neo. The aircraft was leased to Atlantic Airlines by the Airline Leasing Company (ALC) and equipped with CFM International's LEAP-1A engine, which features a full economy cabin layout.
Atlantic Airlines will further expand its European route network after introducing this new member to its Airbus fleet. The company currently operates a full Airbus fleet of two A320 family aircraft (two A319s and one A320). In addition, the company recently added two A320neo aircraft.
The Airbus A320neo series has the widest cabin in a single-aisle aircraft, featuring the latest technology including a new generation of engines and shark fins, with a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a 50% reduction in noise. The A320neo family of aircraft has received more than 6,500 confirmed orders from more than 100 customers, firmly occupying 60% of the market share of the same class.
