In this episode of Air Traffic Out Of Control, we listen in on the recent incident that took place on Alaska Airlines flight 1282 on January 5th. The Boeing 737-9 Max took off from Portland, Oregon bound for Ontario, California, but when it reached 16,000 feet, a portion of the fuselage blew off and the plane immediately depressurized. The pressure was so intense that a young boy on the flight had his shirt torn completely off by the suction. Oxygen masks were deployed on board for the 177 passengers. You will hear the pilot in the recording declare an emergency and immediately request to return to Portland, while attempting to take the plane back down to 10,000 feet due to the depressurization.
