AT&T Outage leaves 100,000+ Users Without Service

Listen Later

A major cellular network outage occurred yesterday leaving nearly 100,000 AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cricket Wireless customers without phone service. The outage started around 3:30am ET with over 58,000 AT&T customers reporting disruptions shortly after, eventually peaking at over 73,000 AT&T subscribers affected. Cricket Wireless also confirmed thousands of its own customers experienced the outage. The hardest hit areas included Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta. The FBI, FCC, and Homeland Security are investigating the cause, which many experts suspect was an intentional malicious attack on AT&T's network.
