Many people are experiencing "pandemic fatigue" or work-related burnout. What have you been doing to maintain optimal physical, mental, social, and emotional resiliency? Preparing yourself for stressful challenges or chaotic situations is an ongoing process that is different for each person. Watch your sleeping and eating habits as well as your use of substances during times of stress, to keep control of them.

On the frontlines of the opioid crisis we are seeing many atypical drug overdoses due to the unpredictable street supply, caused by the war on drugs. We have been seeing more signs/symptoms of benzodiazapines and carfentanil leading to more severe emergencies. Here I talk about "fentanyl rigidity" and "flail reactions". I also discuss training new first responders during a pandemic without putting your compassion fatigue on them. Teach your new colleagues how to thrive in chaos by being a calm and patient mentor, allowing them to grow and challenge themselves.

I finally go into some of the latest research surrounding psychedelic microdosing (LSD and psilocybin). Dr. James Fadiman has a lot of clinical information on the subject and I share his microdosing guide with you all. There are risks that can be avoided with simple harm reduction advice. Microdosing is not for everyone and is not yet fully regulated in North America. Many have seen cognitive benefits and flow-state activity with proper use, although some have felt anxiety or uneasy when doing it without proper guideance. I hope to explore this topic more in my the episode.

This podcast covers many topics considered “taboo” or difficult for some individuals. We do not condone any illegal activities, as this is a platform for harm reduction and open dialogue.
