In this week’s top news, Dr. Greg Murphy, a urologist in Greenville, NC, was elected to represent North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District in a special election held September 10. 

Dr. Murphy, who has represented State District 9 in the North Carolina General Assembly since 2015, will join Dr. Neal Dunn as the only urologists currently serving in the U.S. Congress. Overall, there will now be 23 health care providers serving in the 116th Congress.
