It was bound to happen. I was the successful bidder at an auction at St. Lucie County Florida. It was an amazing home in a gated community. It was on a corner lot, had a pool, lots of custom upgrades. I was all set to make a killing, at least $120k. I beat out half a dozen veteran pros. The auction was over and I was the high bidder, the winner. But then disaster struck, the owner had paid off the HOA judgment and I was left with nothing. That's just the way it goes when you're buying distressed real estate, you win some, you lose some. But you never-ever give up.
