It's the story of Harriet Tubman, the African-American abolitionist and political activist. Born into slavery, Tubman not only escaped but  scores of fellow captives, including family and friends,  through the Underground Railroad. During the Civil War, she served as an armed scout and spy for the Union Army. In her later years, Tubman was an activist for women's suffrage.
