We discuss the importance of the blood economy between God and humans under the Old Covenant. Death is ushered in by Cain violently murdering his brother Abel, because he's jealous of his brother's sacrifice to God. On the other hand, Abraham is willing to make the ultimate blood sacrifice of his promised son, because of his love for God. We also discuss how God pursues these men in both accounts. We show that there is a continuance of animal sacrifices under the Old Covenant. Finally, we introduce the great future of fathers returning back to their sons under the New Covenant.
