God never intended people to live in a world of pain.  Since the coming of Christ, God's people have slowly been working on the epic project of making the earth more like heaven through transformed lives, not losing heart in sowing good.

Is the world trying to distract you with its stress, its hurt, its temporary shallow stuff?  Gaze instead somewhere else.  Gaze upon The King, this heavenly King, your King who is your friend.  Give him your attention, your look.  One day Jesus will return for us and take us home to live forever.  That's the gospel, it's worth being beaten, jailed, disliked.  It's the only thing worth living for.

Maybe you've been trying to help God see the benefits of your plan.  It makes great sense to you.  But you get the distinct impression that He's not buying what you're selling.
