  • Book of James, Talk Three -Seeing the Glory in Others, by William Stuart-Lee

In this sermon pastor William continues our series on the book of James and speaks on how we shouldn't have favoritism for others. As James 2:1-13 says: "If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."". We must treat all people regardless of wealth, social status, or education as we would any other person. In Christ Jesus, there is no rich or poor, educated or uneducated, qualified or unqualified, only royal sons and daughters of God.

It was written by James, who was the brother of Jesus. We can only imagine how complex and challenging it must have been to be a sibling of the Son of God, the Messiah, the one who sits at the Father's right hand in glory. To be family to Jesus must have been a difficult thing to comprehend.
