We go through tests, even spiritual tests, all the time. There is social pressure sometimes to join the crowd. There can be vocational tests where your boss asks you to do something unethical. We all face tests.

Is the world trying to distract you with its stress, its hurt, its temporary shallow stuff?  Gaze instead somewhere else.  Gaze upon The King, this heavenly King, your King who is your friend.  Give him your attention, your look.  One day Jesus will return for us and take us home to live forever.  That's the gospel, it's worth being beaten, jailed, disliked.  It's the only thing worth living for.

Maybe you've been trying to help God see the benefits of your plan.  It makes great sense to you.  But you get the distinct impression that He's not buying what you're selling.  Be strenghtened in your faith today and simply relent your small ideas for His master plan. Just go with it.  Go with it because He is a God who makes a way when it seems there is none.
