Scattered Moments

August 2 | Moments Almanac | Rescue

Listen Later

What do a forgotten Baptist pastor and a future president have in common?

On two different August 2nds, separated by more than 150 years, Stephen Gano and John F. Kennedy both found themselves at the mercy of the sea. One survived a prisoner-of-war island during the American Revolution. The other led the survivors of the sinking of PT-109 through shark-infested waters in the South Pacific during World War II.

Both men walked away with something far greater than survival.

In this episode of Moments Almanac, we explore the quiet truth that every rescued life carries a renewed purpose. Grace often arrives as another sunrise, another breath, another undeserved chance—and then asks what we will do with the life we've been given back.

History reminds us that borrowed time is never wasted when it is surrendered to God.

Take heart. Notice the scattered moments. Share the grace.
