Featured band of the week is the Melvins, originally from the Greater Seattle area and now based in San Francisco.  Formed in the early 1980s and still going, although they have cycled through many bassists and now have taken the 2 drummer route.  More notably is their influence on the sludge genre, as well as being a major influence on the Seattle alt rock scene, aka grunge music.
