In today’s episode, President Nikos Christodoulides was not "invited" to a tripartite meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on August 13 but "sounded out" over such a meeting, government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said.

Meanwhile, police arrested the mother of a three-month-old baby who died of malnourishment and neglect last week.

Elsewhere, President Nikos Christodoulides said there would be "no coverup" in the ongoing investigations related to the failure of the project to build a liquefied natural gas terminal at Vasiliko.
