A 1966 graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Mohawk Actor August Schellenberg has graced the Acting world to include theater, television and movies for over forty years.
Schellenberg has played such roles as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire; Starbuck in The Rainmaker; Oscar in The Odd Couple in theater -- has appeared in such films as Free Willy I, II, and III; Going the Distance (2004)and Terrence Malick’s The New World (2005) with Colin Farrell and Christian Bale as well as multiple television roles in such productions as Lakota Woman: Siege at Wounded Knee (1994); Walker, Texas Ranger (1994-95)and Crazy Horse (1996)
---- Most recent is August’s Emmy®-nominated portrayal of Sitting Bull in Dick Wolf’s HBO production Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (2007), directed by Yves Simoneau and starring Adam Beach, Aidan Quinn, and Anna Paquin.
In addition to his Emmy nomination, Schellenberg has received a Nellie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, an Eagle Spirit Award and multiple Genie Awards.
Schellenberg currently has agreed to appear in Rich Heape Films' future production of "the Wolf at Twilight - An Indian Elder's Journey through a Land of Ghosts and Shadows" written by Kent Nerburn.
