Our top story is: The University of Texas System announced that about 65 employees at its Austin-based administrative offices will be laid off, with additional furloughs expected. The downsizing, which had been expected, comes a few months after a report by a task force of the system’s Board of Regents, called for cutting 70 to 110 of the system’s nearly 700 employees.
