Good afternoon. It’s Monday, May 21. I'm Elise Randall and here's your local news from the Austin American-Statesman. Today, the Texas Department of Public Safety identified several suspects in a fraud scheme at the Travis County tax assessor office. The investigation began in March and looked into whether tax office employees and others may have been involved in fraudulently issuing license plates. All told, seven employees have been arrested at the main tax office and four satellite offices.
