U.S. Army officials have confirmed that Austin is one of five finalists for a prestigious a new military command center that would focus on modernizing the Army and developing new military technologies. Boston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Raleigh, N.C., also made the cut, beating out other cities including Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco and Seattle.
