It’s Tuesday, June 4th. I'm Kyle Sauerhoefer, and here's your local news from the Austin American-Statesman. Our top story: It’s official — Austin’s red light cameras have been turned off. City officials have confirmed that as of Sunday, the day after Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1631, any red light violations caught on cameras will no longer be ticketed. And any traffic ticket photos taken after June 1st won’t be enforced. Austin operated 10 red light cameras.
