Onnettomuus järkytti pientä Cardrossin kaupunkia sekä sitä on kuvattu yhdeksi New South Walesin vakavimmaksi auto-onnettomuudeksi. Kuskin tuomion pituus yllätti lähes kaikki tapausta seuranneet ihmiset.
