The federal government has unveiled AusAlert, a new emergency warning system that will automatically send alerts to all compatible mobile devices during emergencies. The system features distinctive messages and tones that will appear on locked screens outside of standard text messaging apps. Initial community trials begin in June, including in Liverpool, with a nationwide test scheduled for 27 July.
