Australians escape Middle East war zone on partially empty flights

Australians evacuated from the Middle East conflict zone have arrived in Sydney on Etihad and Emirates flights, with passengers reporting missile threats and debris strikes near their locations. Passengers and Foreign Minister Penny Wong have expressed disappointment that flights were only one-third full despite thousands of Australians stranded in the region. The Australian government is working with airlines to coordinate more evacuation flights and ensure all available seats are utilised.
