Authentic enthusiasm.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I heard a phrase while I was listening to a podcast, it doesn't matter what podcast it was.

They mentioned something that just set me off, it was an hour get these ideas for things for us to talk about. I keep them all in a list on my phone on the notepad on my phone.

And so this was one that I just love the phrase authentic enthusiasm, because it brings up a whole lot of ideas for me, and something that I think would be useful to you, especially if you're a business owner or executive that is looking to get out there and promote your products or services via content marketing.

In that process, most of us don't have any training in terms of how do we communicate with people, right? How do we be ourselves, yet still be interesting, right?

How do we stay interesting. And it really comes from enthusiasm.

What's enthusiasm? Enthusiasm, I think it means something, originally, the original term mean something of being, you know, being with God or having God within or the Spirit of God or something of that sort. And so it's, for me, it means spirited, really more that a lot of times it's used in conjunction with excitement.

I think excitement is something different. I'm not a very excitable person, I don't think people should get too excited about things. I think it normally takes you off base, and get you all emotional and set up for the next fall, usually, but enthusiasm is something different.

I take the word to mean something else. enthusiasm for me, is all about being spirited.

It's about having a booth about something, right. It's tough to put into words, but it's about having, you know, some gravitas about a situation that's being enthusiastic about something, or enthusiastic about just being alive just in making a presentation.

Communicating an idea.

That's why I think of enthusiasm. And so authentic enthusiasm is tough. But it shouldn't be right. If you are initially energized about what you're talking about, then all you really have to do is be authentic, be yourself without putting on a whole lot of layers without trying to be somebody else, or be like somebody else.

But at the same time.

So you're trying to project an idea.

But you got to be you, you got to be comfortable with being you authentic. When it comes to content marketing. It's not something that I think can be taught. I've never seen anyone that was able to teach authenticity.

It can be achieved through practice, though. It's achieved through doing it enough times that you just start letting go. Of all the extra stuff that isn't you.

I don't know if I'm there yet, honestly. But I know I'm further along than I was when I first started doing a lot of content marketing.

Just since we've been doing these daily conversations, you could go back and watch my original ones. It's very different. I don't like to watch them.

But they're very different in the fact that I I'm getting better and better at just being myself, but at the same time, attempting to remain enthusiastic and to show my enthusiasm over these ideas and concepts that have changed my life.

I'm hoping they'll be able to change yours. So that's what authentic enthusiasm is to be.
