The Thomistic Institute and Catholic Information Center present a lecture by Prof. Frederick Bauerschmidt of Loyola University Maryland titled “Authentic Freedom in the Novels of Graham Greene.”

This lecture will explore how the genre of narrative is uniquely useful in showing the nature of true freedom. Three of Graham Green’s “Catholic novels,” The Power and the Glory (1940), The Heart of the Matter (1948), and The End of the Affair (1951) will be discussed as examples of the narrative depiction of the interplay of human freedom and divine grace.
