Often dismissed as ‘women’s troubles’, endometriosis affects one in 10 women during reproductive age, yet a lack of research and funding means sufferers can live in severe pain, unable to work or have a socialise life.
This hidden toll and extraordinary neglect of a disease that affects an estimated 176 million women around the globe, causing many to suffer a life of pain and debilitation and sometimes infertility.
While dealing with illnesses like Endomometriosis, women get to deal with Gender-based violence (GBV) or violence against women and girls (VAWG), which is a global pandemic that affects 1 in 3 women in their lifetime.
As a black women, you suffer twice for being black and being a women and not forgetting the hidden sufferings we go through daily in our personal lifes, one of them being Endometriosis.
