AUTHOR INTERVIEW: The Vessel: Tinaja (2002) by Randy Cribbs

Listen Later

When a peaceful Timucuan chief is gifted a drinking vessel that is made out of an unknown material he soon finds that it possesses power that can lead those who drink from it immortality...and a maddening rage. The chief soon begins to harshly punish those around him and becomes war crazy as he invades surrounding tribes. Those of his village label the vessel "Tinaja" or demon. Flash forward to St. Augustine, FL in 2002, an archeologist is discovered dead. The mystery that follows through this ancient city shows just how connected it is to its past, and the mysterious powers that may or may not come from it. Author Randy Cribbs joins us from the campus of Flagler College as we discuss his writing of this novel, the city of St. Augustine, the importance of research, and maybe some things about ghosts.
