Author Sarah C. Williams joins the show from “across the pond” to share the powerful story of her book “Perfectly Human: Nine Months with Cerian.” During Sarah’s pregnancy, she learned that her baby would very likely not survive due to a lethal skeletal deformity—news that would radically alter the course of Sarah’s life and that of her family’s. Welsh for “loved one,” the name Cerian (pronounced “KERRY-en”) was given to her baby after Sarah and her husband Paul learned of her baby’s diagnosis. They wanted the name to most accurately reflect who Cerian was—a real person (not a “strong religious principle” or an “ethical decision”)…specifically, a sick child Sarah & Paul felt God had entrusted to them to care for and return to Him. Open and honest, heart-wrenching yet healing on many levels at the same time, the journey Sarah and her family embarked upon (and are still on) is well-worth a listen.
