Welner, author of Tragedy in Casco Bay, wrote this book in 2006 when she discovered an old newspaper story about how a pleasure boat named The Don vanished in 1941, drowning all people aboard, most of them good friends, some relatives; they were headed for an all day June lobster bake, no boat remnants were ever found and only a few bodies were discovered from Harpswell all the way to Portland.
