In Mark 2:1–12, four friends bring a paralyzed man to Jesus by tearing open a roof and lowering him into a crowded house. Everyone expects Jesus to heal the man’s body, but instead He addresses the deeper need first: “Your sins are forgiven.” By healing the man afterward, Jesus proves He has authority not only to heal but to forgive sins. The story reminds us that Jesus didn’t just come to fix what’s broken in our lives. He came to forgive what’s broken in us.
