Short-line railroad operator Genesee & Wyoming is testing autonomous railroad vehicles from Parallel Systems on several of its short lines in Georgia that serve the Port of Savannah.   The company believes that the time has come to eliminate the baked-in inefficiencies inherent in normal railroad operations.
