イギリスは秋になりました。すずしいです。秋の花がきれいです。

うちのコスモスです。コスモスは漢字で秋の桜（秋桜）です。

これは桔梗です。桔梗はつぼみがかわいいです。風船みたいです。

それから、花屋で菊を買いました。赤と黄色の大きい菊です

今日、日本の妹からLINEにメッセージが来ました。もうすぐお彼岸だから、お墓参りに行くと言っていました。お彼岸は日本の季節の行事です。秋のお彼岸と春のお彼岸があります。家の中の仏壇に花を飾ったり、食べ物をお供えしたりします。それから、お墓参りに行きます。それで私も菊の花を買いに行くことにしたんです。

日本でこういう行事の時に飾るのは菊の花です。だから私は若い時、菊イコール仏壇のイメージがありました。最近は亡くなった家族を思う行事が大切になってきたのでお花屋さんで菊を選ぶのが楽しいと感じます。

This is our cosmos. Cosmos in kanji is autumn cherry blossom. This is a bellflower. The buds of the bellflower are cute. They look like balloons.

I bought some chrysanthemums at a flower shop. They are big red and yellow chrysanthemums.

Today, I received a message on LINE from my sister in Japan. She said she was going to visit a grave because it will soon be the Ohigan (equinox). Ohigan is a seasonal event in Japan. There is an autumnal and a spring Ohigan. We decorate the family Buddhist altar in the house with flowers and offer food. Then I go to visit the graves if possible. So I decided to go and buy some chrysanthemum flowers.

In Japan, chrysanthemum flowers are used to decorate these events. So when I was young, I had an image of chrysanthemums as a Buddhist altar. Nowadays, I find it fun to choose chrysanthemums at the flower shop because the event of thinking about lost family members has become more important.
