One of my favourite uni stories was walking into my first one-on-one lesson with my teacher, and him saying "So I'm gonna start teaching you the basics of soloing in jazz. Have you ever heard the tune Autumn Leaves?"

And I was like "Nah."

And he just stopped and blinked for a few seconds, clear his throat, then continued to hip me to a bunch of obscure standards like Autumn Leaves, Sunny, and Little Sunflower. Oh man, good times.
