What if your life was created for something far greater than personal happiness or success?

In this episode, we take a deeper look at Genesis 2 and discover the extraordinary love, intention, and purpose behind God's creation of mankind.

From the dust of the ground to the breath of life, we explore what makes humanity uniquely created in God's image and how His perfect balance of justice and mercy reveals His character. We'll also uncover the beauty of God's provision in the Garden of Eden and why work, responsibility, and stewardship were always part of His good design.

But this lesson goes beyond creation. It challenges us to examine how we're living today.

Are we placing God at the center of our decisions, relationships, and purpose? Or have we slowly made ourselves the focus?

God's story gives our lives meaning, and our greatest purpose is to know Him, glorify Him, and make Him known.

Join us as we discover what it truly means to live a God-centered life and reflect on one powerful question:

“Does my choice amplify God or myself?”

    Scripture Focus: Genesis 2 | 1 Corinthians 10:31

  • Prep Work is Perfect Work...it is Good

What if the waiting season you're in isn't wasted time, but God's preparation for something greater?

In this episode, Angela Raber takes us back to the very beginning in Genesis 1:1–13, where we discover the incredible power, intentionality, and sovereignty of our Creator. From bringing order out of chaos to carefully preparing the earth for life, every detail of creation reveals a God who works with purpose.

But God's preparation didn't stop at creation. Just as He carefully prepared the world for us, He is continually working in our hearts and lives, even when we can't see what He's doing.

Through Scripture, practical illustrations, and a little humor, Angela reminds us that God's timing is never wasted, His plans are always purposeful, and His work is always good.

Sometimes the most important work God is doing is the work we cannot yet see.

Join us as we discover why God's prep work is perfect work—and why we can trust Him in every season.

  • The Choice is Yours

Who are you becoming, and what is influencing you along the way?

In this session, we look at Joshua’s final challenge to the people of Israel: stay faithful, cling to God, seek understanding before jumping to conclusions, and remember who ultimately gives the victory. As Joshua prepares to leave behind the people he has led, he reminds them that faith is not passive—it requires a choice.

This message explores what it means to be “in the world, but not of the world,” how easily we can assimilate to the influences around us, and why the words “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” are more than a familiar phrase—they are a daily commitment.

It’s a challenge to live differently, hold fast to truth, and choose again and again who you will serve.

  • Grace to Make Peace

Sometimes we think we’ve moved past a hurt, conflict, or resentment—only to realize there’s still something lingering beneath the surface.

In this episode, I’m sharing what God has been teaching me through The Peacemaker by Ken Sande and the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:3–5. We’ll talk about the “logs” we may not realize we’re still carrying, what it looks like to fully surrender unresolved conflict to God, and how obedience and grace can lead us toward real peace and healing.

Conflict doesn’t have to only be something we avoid. In God’s hands, it can become an opportunity for growth—in our relationships with others and, most importantly, in our relationship with Him.

What might God be asking you to release completely today?

  • Courage For The Hard Seasons

Sometimes the only way out is through—and the only way through is with complete reliance on God.

In this episode, we look at Joshua’s call to be strong and courageous and what that means for the battles, decisions, and difficult seasons we face in our own lives. Following God doesn’t always mean the road will be easy. Sometimes obedience means walking straight through the hard thing, trusting that He is with us every step of the way.

We’ll talk about seeking God’s voice, moving forward with boldness instead of fear, and remembering that our strength does not come from ourselves—it comes from Him. Whether you’re walking through a struggle, stepping into a new calling, or facing something you know will require courage, my prayer is that you’ll be reminded that God is faithful, He is present, and He can use your obedience to display His glory.

  • When trusting means waiting

What happens when we trust God only halfway?

In this teaching from the book of Joshua, we look at the consequences of obedience, disobedience, impatience, and trying to move ahead of God. From Jericho to Achan’s hidden sin to Israel’s defeat and eventual victory at Ai, we see a powerful reminder that our choices rarely affect only us—and that God calls His people to trust Him completely.

Sometimes the hardest part of obedience isn’t doing something difficult. It’s waiting when God says wait. It’s resisting the urge to take control, move ahead, or ask God to bless plans we never asked Him to lead in the first place.

This episode is an invitation to examine where we may be holding tightly to our own plans and ask a deeper question: Am I asking God to come alongside what I want, or am I willing to surrender my will and follow His?

God’s timing may stretch our patience, but His goodness is worth waiting for.

  • Be Strong and Courageous, God is with you!

What do you do when the opportunity is right in front of you—but you’re not sure God has said go?

In this episode, we walk through the opening chapters of Joshua and the Israelites’ long-awaited entrance into the Promised Land. Their story reminds us that following God isn’t simply about moving when the timing looks right. It’s about praying, listening, obeying, and trusting His timing.

We’ll talk about the difference between rushing ahead and waiting too long, why God asked His people to stop and remember what He had done, and what it means to be strong and courageous—not because we have everything figured out, but because God is with us.

Before asking God to bless the path in front of us, perhaps the better question is: Has He called us to it?

  • Battles and Beginnings- Joshua

What does it really look like to walk with God through battles, change, and new beginnings?

In this episode of Await & Arise, we begin our journey through Joshua and Genesis—two books filled with battles, beginnings, promises, and the faithfulness of God. From Joshua stepping onto the battlefield to Israel entering the Promised Land, we see again and again that the victory was never theirs to accomplish alone. God was already at work.

The same is true in our lives.

We may not fight the physical battles Joshua faced, but we face very real spiritual and personal battles—seasons of uncertainty, change, temptation, waiting, and beginning again. Through it all, God remains faithful. His promises are true, His presence is with us, and He is continually calling us to trust Him, persevere, and become people who reveal Him more clearly to the world around us.

Battles and beginnings—this is what it looks like to walk with God.

  • Await & Arise Teaching: Fear into Faith- 1 Samuel 21-24

    Send us Fan Mail

Situations can catch us off guard and typically my response is fear, but God calls us to trust in him and to instead respond in faith.
Today's teaching focuses on David as he flees from Saul and we see that fear jeopardize the town of priests at Nob and his response in fear lacking faith.
God is in it with him though and eventually we see David's fear turn to faith and God continues to give David victory even when times seem bleak.

This is the final teaching for our 30 weeks in Psalms.  What a great study it has been.  And a perfect wrap to this study of why we praise God in all situations.  Struggle or victory...praise God.

I hope you have been encouraged and edified by these teachings and I look forward to seeing you back here in the fall when we start our study in Joshua.
