Architect Andrew Maynard has received numerous awards for his homes, many of which break the traditional mould. His distinctive designs are regularly featured in the media, which have a strong emphasis on sustainability. Recycled materials usually appear in his work and colour is often used for great effect -limes, reds. He also adhere to sustainable issues in his own life, preferring to ride a bike rather than drive a car. Maynard recently received an architectural award at the Architectural Festival in late 2011.
